In the chapter, “Don’t Ask” I say, Don’t ask a patient what the drug they’re taking is for? Patients expect you to know what a drug is used for. Memorise a list of the most commonly prescribed medications, their uses, their generic names and their brand names. Knowing why someone is taking a particular medication is extremely important. Equally, you must never show a gap in your knowledge regarding something as basic as this. Here is the link to the list that I refer to.
