Since graduating from the British School of Osteopathy, London, in 1985, I have worked in the healthcare profession as an osteopath and, since 2000, as an acupuncturist. Every time I walk into my treatment room, I still feel the sense of privilege, excitement and honour that I experienced treating my first patient as a new grad, knowing that I have complete autonomy over what I can do to help someone overcome pain, restore function and return to doing what they love.

  I have a duty to share my knowledge with you because I know that my contribution will help you fulfil your role and responsibility in helping others as a manual therapist, using just your two hands. Those you help will, in turn, be able to help others in their network and community. I have been very fortunate to have worked as a university lecturer, an associate, locum, employee, contractor and business owner in Australia and the United Kingdom during my career. My experiences have provided a unique perspective for helping manual therapists who work for themselves, employ others or are employees.
